After the overwhelming response received for the first, second and the third Hanseatic India Colloquium organized in Hamburg since 2006, the organizing committee has decided that the fourth Hanseatic India Colloquium with a focus on Healthcare, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences should again be held in Hamburg. This event will be a part of India Week Celebrations in Hamburg taking place during October 23 – November 01, 2009.

Like its predecessors, the Fourth Hanseatic India Colloquium will be planned to show-case the progress that India has made in the field of life sciences and to provide a platform for an effective networking between Indian and German/European companies. The emphasis will be to catalyze an effective two way co-operation in the area of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare. Topics like biopharmaceuticals, cooperation in R & D and in drug development, bioinformatics, and a discussion on IP right protection will be included. 

German and Indian decision-makers from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors will be brought together, offering excellent networking opportunities. Collaboration opportunities developed in prior Hanseatic India Conferences have already produced many highly successful business partnerships. This time too, several cooperation proposals are expected to be discussed and taken forward.

It is a pleasure to announce at this stage that two special lectures will be delivered by distinguished speakers, Dr. Jens Würthner, Director, Translational Research Pharmacology & Discovery Medicine of GlaxoSmithKline, Stevenage, UK and Dr. S.  Bialojan Director & Head, European Life Science Centre, Ernst & Young AG, Mannheim, Germany.

An evening reception coupled with networking will be organized on Friday through the courtesy of HWF Hamburg Business Development Corporation and Norgenta North German Life Science Agency.
